Daily Challenges

Overview

Daily challenges provide extra goals beyond the standard coin scoring. Each day, your child receives a fresh challenge that encourages a specific positive behavior. Completing challenges earns bonus coins and keeps the gamification experience engaging.

How Challenges Work

  1. Assignment: A new challenge is assigned each morning based on the child's current behavior patterns and level
  2. Visibility: The child sees their active challenge on their dashboard
  3. Completion: The challenge is evaluated during the end-of-day scoring process
  4. Reward: Bonus coins are awarded if the challenge criteria are met

Challenge Examples

| Challenge | Criteria | Reward | |-----------|----------|--------| | Screen-Free Morning | No device usage before 9 AM | 2 coins | | App Explorer | Use 3 different educational apps | 2 coins | | Early Night | Stop using device 1 hour before bedtime | 3 coins | | Focus Champion | Complete a full Homework Mode session | 2 coins | | Under Half | Stay under 50% of daily screen time limit | 3 coins | | Safe Surfer Day | Zero blocked browsing attempts | 1 coin | | Step Outside | Leave and return to a safe zone (indicating outdoor activity) | 2 coins |

Challenge Difficulty

Challenges scale with the child's level:

  • Levels 1-5 (Seedling era): Easy challenges with straightforward criteria
  • Levels 6-10 (Explorer era): Moderate challenges that combine categories
  • Levels 11-15 (Guardian era): Harder challenges requiring sustained effort
  • Levels 16+ (Champion/Master era): Advanced challenges with higher thresholds

Streak Interaction

Completing daily challenges counts toward the daily coin total, which means challenges can help a child reach the 2-coin streak threshold on days when their base score might fall short.

Challenges are designed to be achievable but slightly stretch the child's current habits. If your child consistently completes challenges, it is a sign they are building genuinely healthier digital habits.
