Streaks

Overview

Streaks reward consistency. Every day your child earns at least 2 coins (the streak threshold), their streak counter increases by one. Longer streaks unlock coin multipliers that boost all future earnings.

Streak Multiplier Table

The multiplier applies to the base daily coin score. For example, if your child earns 8 base coins and has a 30-day streak (1.5x multiplier), they receive 8 x 1.5 = 12 coins.

Maintaining a Streak

To keep the streak alive, the child must earn at least 2 coins per day. This is intentionally a low bar — even on a "bad" screen time day, a child can earn 2 coins from other categories like bedtime, safe browsing, or device health.

Streak Shields

Streak shields protect against the occasional bad day:

  • Shields are bonus items that can be earned through special achievements or challenges
  • When a child earns fewer than 2 coins on a day, a shield is automatically consumed to preserve the streak
  • The streak counter stays the same (it does not increase, but it does not reset either)
  • Once all shields are used, the next sub-threshold day will break the streak

Breaking a Streak

If a child earns fewer than 2 coins and has no shields remaining:

  • The streak counter resets to 0
  • The multiplier drops back to 1.0x
  • The previous streak length is saved as "Last Streak Before Break"
  • This value is used for streak repair

Streak Repair

If a child's streak breaks, they can repair it:

  • The parent can initiate a streak repair from the dashboard
  • Repair restores the streak to its pre-break value
  • Costs coins based on the length of the streak being repaired
  • The Comeback Kid badge is awarded after the first repair

Streak Badges

Reaching streak milestones unlocks special badges:

  • Streak Starter (7 days): Common, 3 bonus coins
  • Streak Warrior (30 days): Rare, 10 bonus coins
  • Streak Master (100 days): Epic, 20 bonus coins
  • Streak Legend (365 days): Legendary, 50 bonus coins
