Up to Three Children, One Phone
A shared phone can hold up to three children from the same family at once. This limit belongs to the phone, not to your family's plan — it's a separate number from however many children your KidMoat plan covers overall.
You add each child to the shared phone the same way: from that child's own profile in the parent app, there's a "set up this phone" action that enrolls the phone for them specifically. A phone already shared with one child can pick up a second or third the same way.
Each Child Is Kept Separate
Only one child's mode runs on the phone at a time, but that's the only thing that's shared. Every child enrolled on the phone has:
- their own screen time rules, app limits, and bedtime
- their own coins, streak, and rewards
- their own reports and history
Switching from one child to another doesn't touch the child you're switching away from — nothing about their coins, streak, or settings changes because the phone momentarily wasn't showing them. These are the same underlying records whether a child is on a shared phone or a phone of their own; the phone is just a window onto one child's data at a time, never a place the data lives.
Switching Between Children Is Parent-Gated
The switcher that lists your children only opens from parent mode. A child in their own restricted mode has no way to jump to a sibling directly — the only path out is the PIN-gated switch back to you. Getting from one child's session to another's always passes through a parent in the middle, even if that's the same parent handing the phone straight back to a different child a moment later.
What Doesn't Carry Over
There's no way to move a child who's already set up on this phone onto a phone of their own, or the reverse. If a shared child later gets their own phone, the only route is to remove them and add them again as a new child on the new device — which resets their coins, streak, and usage history to zero. Weigh that before enrolling a child on a shared phone if you expect to hand them a phone of their own soon.
